The Russian government approved the 2021-2030 strategic academic leadership program „Priority 2030“, which is aimed at supporting universities. The corresponding order is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the document, grants in the form of subsidies will be provided on a competitive basis to support the development programs of universities, including implemented jointly with scientific organizations. Programs should be aimed at training personnel for priority areas of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, economic and social sectors, development and implementation of breakthrough scientific research and development, new creative, social and humanitarian projects, as well as the introduction of high technologies into the economy and social sphere.
