The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has developed a draft resolution proposing to harmonize the list of fields of knowledge and specialties. According to it, higher and professional higher education in Ukraine is going to be adapted to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED-F 2013). The relevant draft document has been submitted for public discussion.

Harmonization of the national List of fields of knowledge and specialties with the International Standard Classification of Education is planned to ensure international codification of educational programs, international academic mobility of students and research and teaching staff, as well as improving conditions for attracting foreign students.

„Today, the system of Ukrainian higher education is actively integrated into the world educational space. The document should ensure proper identification of the profile of educational training programs in the coordinate system of the International Standard Classification of Education“, said Education Minister Serhiy Shkarlet.

The public discussion of the document will last until February 3. Comments and suggestions can be sent to: vrublevska@mon.gov.ua (state expert of the directorate of professional higher education of the Ministry of Education and Science Olena Vrublevska).
